Hey there! :wave:

First of all I want to thank everyone that wish me a Happy Birthday! :) I didn't answer you all yet (but I will I promise) because I got no time. But I'm letting you know I notice and you guys are the best! ;)

Since we're talking about birthdays, let's talk about this drawing!

This is a birthday present for :star::iconruy-wonderful::star:

I gave it to him today (actually it was yesterday, it's already 00:31 in my country) and he loved it!

He's one of the craziest fans of Rihanna I have ever seen. Very freaky!!! He even wants to paint his hair to red!

I try my best with this drawing and I really like the final result I just hate the fact that you can see how it looks for real!

I said it before and I say it again: My scanner hates me! :cry:

About it:
:bulletblack:Done with graphite pencils (H, HB, 2B, 3B, 8B);
:bulletblack:A4 size of paper;
:bulletblack:Tortillon used;
:bulletblack:Reference from Essence Magazine;

I've to go it's getting late! Love you all!
And if I can't draw anything else until there... I wish you now: Merry Christmas! :santa:

This one looks awesome, the overall proportions of the face and hands are just about perfect. I really like how you gave her skin great contrast, it makes it look shiny but while still maintaining a realistic feel. The texture of the hair is also very well-rendered, and it looks shiny and smooth. Really, you've done a wonderful job with this drawing. There's a few things that I can see that could be fixed up, a teensy bit.
Her eyes are a bit small, and too almond shaped. Even though Rihanna has smaller eyes in general, it's okay to even exaggerate it a bit on a pencil portrait's eyes because it makes it glow and look realistic. Also, the overall hairline is a bit too big and it looks kind of like a bowl. The way you drew the hair with the shiny textures and strands look realistic and you should keep doing it that way. When you do your strokes for the skin, you should layer the pencil strokes like a crosshatch, then blend it with a tissue, and do that over about 3-4 times to get a nice smooth skin texture.
The finger with the ring on it looks really nice, especially the details of the ring. It looks very very real. The finger tip could be widened a bit though, it looks a tiny bit shrunken and I think you can expand it. Also, if you want to achieve realism on the hair with small individual strands, you should take an eraser, cut it at a sharp point, and then make sure it's firm enough to just draw in the strands. it works very well. I use a sharpened eraser stick to do it.
I think what I like about this drawing the most is that it has a soft smooth shading. It looks like a charcoal drawing, and is very very realistic. The fabric on her shirt looks so soft that I could touch it. Keep up the amazing work Dave! :)
